There Will Be Some Road Closures On Ibn Battuta Street
Traffic diversions are being introduced by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA), to allow for road works for its Route 2020 project.
On the weekend, the RTA announced that one lane of Ibn Battuta Street will be closed in the sector between Intersection 2 and Intersection 6 – the end date is unspecified.
The completion of Route 2020 will see the Dubai metro system extended – from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station to the site of Expo 2020
Route 2020 extends about 15km from Nakheel Harbour and Tower Station on the Red Line with seven stations, which includes five elevated stations and two underground stations.
The RTA has requested motorists to be attentive and comply with the directional signs for their safety and avoid congestion.
Works on Route 2020 will be running 24×7 until the completion of the entire works of the project.
