6-Year-Old Dubai Photographer Won Second Place In A Prestigious International Competition
6-year-old Dubai resident, Ameyaa Akhil Vinayak, ranked second in an international photography competition
Ameyaa won the Young Food Photographer of the Year in the 10 and under category at the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2022. Her winning image is titled FROZEN.
This is her description of her winning photo: “Peeping out from the frozen ice was a fish. Like a fish swimming and peeping over the waves of the sea. But this fish was there frozen, on the table of a fish market. Lifeless. Ready to be someone’s food.”

The competition had thousands of entries which were submitted from more than 60 countries across the world
The winners were announced online via a live-streamed event. Ameyaa was the youngest among the 5 photographers in the UAE who were honoured in the international competition. Two of her other images were also selected in the highly commended category.
This is Ameyaa’s first award – isn’t that the cutest thing ever? Her very first award in life is from an INTERNATIONAL photography competition.
