Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, revealed a wax statue of the late Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, at Madame Tussauds in Dubai on Sunday. It also marks the debut of a Pakistani personality’s wax figure at the museum.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan’s foreign minister and the late prime minister’s son, revealed the figure on Bluewaters Island

He said in a statement,

I first saw this statue in Madame Tussauds London. Dubai holds a special place in our hearts, as my mother and family spent around ten years in exile here. I did my primary and secondary education here in the UAE. I have a strong attachment to this city and country.

Benazir Bhutto was a prominent Pakistani politician who served as the Prime Minister of Pakistan twice

Benazir Bhutto became the first woman to lead a Muslim-majority country in modern history when she was elected as Prime Minister in 1988. She held office until 1990 and was re-elected in 1993, serving until 1996. During her time in power, she implemented several social and economic reforms, advocating for women’s rights and poverty alleviation.

Tragically, Benazir Bhutto’s political journey was marred by challenges and controversies

In 2007, after returning from self-imposed exile, she survived an assassination attempt in Karachi but was assassinated in a subsequent attack on December 27, 2007, during an election rally in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

Her assassination shocked the world and sparked widespread grief and outrage. Benazir Bhutto’s legacy as a charismatic leader, her role as an advocate for democracy and women’s rights, and her tragic death have left a lasting impact on Pakistan’s political landscape.
