Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has charted an ambitious course for the city’s marine transport system. Hold on to your life vests because they’ve got exciting news about electric 3D-printed abras that are all set to join the traditional fleet.

Dubai RTA is taking maritime innovation to the next level with 3D printing. They’re crafting 3D-printed electric abras that will transport you in style. These futuristic boats, designed to carry 20 passengers, blend aesthetics and heritage cues, making them a blend of old and new that’s simply abra-mazing.

And the best part is that you will have the option to enjoy rides on BOTH the new electric boats as well as the city’s OG traditional AED1 abras – as confirmed by an RTA spokesperson to Lovin Dubai

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, gave the official nod to the Dubai Marine Transport Master Plan 2030

The plan not only aims to increase marine transport users by 51% but also extends the length of the network from 55 km to 158 km. More stations, more lines, and even more vessels are part of the plot. We’re talking about 79 stations dotted along Dubai Creek, Dubai Water Canal, the Arabian Gulf coastline, and various waterfront projects.

So, whether you’re a marine explorer or just want to enjoy the sea breeze, Dubai’s waters are set to become even more enticing in the years to come.
