Scamsters At Work: Government Bank Imposters Trying To Scam You With Genuine Looking WhatsApp Messages

Dubai residents have complained about receiving messages from unauthorized and random phone numbers with a display picture of the emblem of the United Arab Emirates, identifying as the ‘Federal Bank Of The UAE’. The message claimed that their ‘ATM cards have been blocked’ and that those who want their cards working properly again must contact ‘0559505600’.

*Residents are being advised to immediately BLOCK these numbers to prevent their details from getting compromised.

“Dear customer, your ATM card has been blocked”

The scam text read:

Dubai peeps are no strangers to these sort of messages and calls coming in randomly with such hoax claims to ATM cards, or declaring that you’ve won a raffle draw/lottery for which you must submit your details to own the prize

However, residents are taking to social media to warn those unaware of these fraudsters, about the chain of these scam messages attempting to exploit you of your personal and private details.

Especially during these sensitive times, it’s super important that residents are aware of cyberscams and imposters attempting to dupe them of their hard-earned money.
