Virgin Mobile Says ‘Hello UAE’ By Announcing They Will Be Entering The Market Soon
Today it was announced that a new mobile service provider, Virgin Mobile, would be coming to the UAE. Currently, there are only two mobile licenses in the UAE, those brands being DU and Etisalat. This hasn’t changed. Usually, a third mobile network means increased competition and a win for consumers. However, this is owned by the same parent company as Du, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications (EITC).
There will still be internal competition for the number of users between the two brands, so this is a positive sign and definitely a smart move by EITC. It remains to be seen how Etisalat will respond.

Not a third license, but still healthy competition
