Bill Gates Is Coming Back To The UAE For A Very Good Cause
Bill Gates will attended a major conference in Abu Dhabi, hosted by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, next month that is aimed at stamping out polio and malaria.
The summit, Reaching The Last Mile, will mark the growing role that Abu Dhabi aims to play in global public health
The conference will gather experts from around the world to find solutions for wiping out these diseases and will also honour health workers in affected countries with the Recognising Excellence Around Champions of Health (Reach) Awards.
Sheikh Mohamed recently donated AED 18.4 million to combat malaria
UAE has also been actively fighting against polio in Afghanistan and Pakistan, two of the three remaining affected countries (the third is Nigeria).
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has also devoted much to the cause against polio, which can cause lifelong paralysis.
