7 Things You Should Consider Before Getting A Pet In Dubai
Pets are a wonderful addition to the family. They give you unconditional love and can be your best friend. They don’t judge you when you lie in bed all day eating pizza, keep your hands warm when you’re trying to type on your laptop and always make sure you look incredibly glam in a fur coat. Pets. Are. Everything. But, they also come with massive lifestyle changes and if you’re looking to adopt a furry friend, here are some things to consider:
1. They cost a lot
– seriously, they do. Like us human folk, pets get sick and with sickness comes medical bills. They also need a little grooming every now and then and will give you a run for your money at the salon.Â
2. Your holidays may be limited
You deserve some time off, but that means your little fur baby will have to be taken care of. It’s not easy to find someone to look after your pets while you’re away, and they do get lonely! You can always go through an agency, but again, that costs money.Â
3. They make a mess
All pets have a flair for interior design. That new sofa you’ve been saving up for, for weeks looks great, you know what would make it better? Claw marks. And bite marks. Pets literally see your entire home as a canvas on which they can explore their creative energy. They basically wreck everything. So throw blankets and closed cabinets are about to become your new best friends.
4. Poop
Everything poops. It’s not a particularly pleasant fact of life but yes, even your pets poop. Everywhere. Think of it as something of a treasure hunt, put on your shoes – you’ve won! Empty your laundry – you’ve won again!Â
5. Friends don’t let friends have litters
It’s unfortunately not as simple as having ‘the talk’ when it comes to your pets and any animal lover will tell you, you have to neuter them. Cats especially can get out of the house and come back with a big ‘oops’ for you to deal with.Â
6. It’s hot out here for a pup
Summer is coming and it gets scorching which means flip flops and shorts for us but imagine having to constantly wear a fur coat? Our fluffy friends are stuck with their fur all year round and it can be unbearable when you’re taking them out for walks. Plus, they shed, which means hoovering will be a permanent resident on your to-do list!
7. Be prepared for a whole lot of loving
You are the be all and end all to your pet. The best part of their day is just being with you and they think you’re the bomb diggity. They love you unconditionally and want to shower you in affection constantly. If you’re looking to get a pet, you’ll probably never experience love and loyalty like it. Unless you get a cat, cats are jerks.
