Drivers in Dubai are arguably the most talked about subject. And, it’s usually not for a praise. So, imagine a world where the cars drive themselves? The trial for driverless cars has just entered its third phase in Business Bay, where the RTA will test how effective it is under different conditions and routes. The ten seater vehicle, EZ10, has been on trial since June and is part of the RTA’s big dreams of autonomous mobility for public transport in the city. According to Zawya.com, ‘Dubai has set out a strategy of converting 25 per cent of total mobility services in Dubai to various types of driverless transit means by 2030.’
“RTA is considering broadening the deployment of autonomous vehicles in other areas of Dubai, including metro stations, malls and tourist spots,”
Ahmad Behroozian, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency
