The Toronto Raptors Are The First NBA Team To Create A Branded Hijab
The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian pro basketball team and they’ve just created branded hijabs.
“Inspired by those brave enough to change the game,” the team created the line in collaboration with Nike, which was the first major sports brand to create a sportswear hijab.
The Raptors, the 2019 NBA champs no less, are the first US team to create its own athletic hijab with an aim to be ‘more inclusive to fans of all cultures’, according to Associated Press.

In 2017, UAE ladies made history debuting the Nike Hijab pro
Runner, mountaineer and founder of Surviving Hijab, Manal Rostom, Nike athlete and professional fencer, Ibtihaj Muhammad and Emirati figure skater Zahra Lari were some of the first to debut the athletic wear hijab and Manal went on to proudly be the first to complete the New York City Marathon in the Nike hijab pro, later that year!
