5 Things To Know About The First Emirati Female Astronaut Nora Al Matrooshi
The first female Emirati astronaut, Nora Al-Matrooshi, has just been chosen to join the stars, much like the first batch of astronauts did a year back. Along with Mohammed Al-Mulla, Nora was selected to be part of the second bath of the UAE Astronaut Programme.
The two chosen astronauts will soon commence their in-house training ahead of their Houston trip to join NASA.
What does this mean for Nora? Well, she will also get the chance to head to the International Space Station (a big deal for all aspiring and working astronauts.)
We love to see it!
On that note, let’s get to know Nora a little bit more…

She expanded on this by saying, “I’d say they explored the ocean.”
Reports say that Matrooshi used to go to stargazing events as a young girl, realising her passion for space at a young age.

1. When asked about what her message is to the public, she responded saying…
“My message to everyone is if I can do it, you can do it,” she said. “And if no one has done it before then you can just go ahead and be the first, because if you have the ambition and drive you will find opportunities everywhere at any time.”
We are already inspired.
