“I was a child of war, from Bosnia.”

A sound on the Kris Fade Show triggered many memories for one listener, and she called in to the show to share her moving story.

Every Sunday on the breakfast radio show, the total for the popular pop-quiz jumps from AED10,000 to AED50,000, which means if the caller can accurately answer just ten questions in 60 seconds, they will win AED50,000… NOT  a bad prize for a few minutes work!

So to announce the whopper quiz, the team were using a siren sound, which reminded one listener of a time when her home was being bombed. Scroll down to watch the full clip.

Her story would give you shivers

A caller rang to say the sound brings back memories of nights her home was getting bombed. A story that would give you the shivers, she was nine years old at the time, living in a building with her parents.

The sound was a warning, when they heard the siren blast, her family would retreat to the basement, and wait there for the night. She left Bosnia with her family when she was just shy of her tenth birthday.

“The exact same sound that was made every time before they started bombing the city”

The new sound is a lot more comical

Not only did Kris delete the siren immediately he also double-checked another siren was okay.. the woman said it reminded her of the OG comic, Charlie Chaplin.
