The Vibe Advisor: What It’s Like To Be A Director Of Nightlife In Dubai
Dubai really goes out of its way to make everything perfect- including the nightlife!
…and that’s where this particular gentleman comes in.
Aneesh Gera is the Director of Nightlife at Caesars Palace Dubai…AKA he controls everything that goes into you have those smashing weekend nights!
You might even call him a ‘Vibe Advisor’- Aneesh himself has approved that term!
Aneesh is the very first hire in this role at Caesars Palace Dubai- and with all the rager parties going on there, it’s safe to assume that he is a true genius in his craft.
A unique beginning, Aneesh started working as a DJ at the very young of 17
“I’m the guy who’s always been running against the grain”
Armed with his degree in audio engineering, he worked his way to the top. Just last week he was performing at the party central hub- Ibiza. He also lists playing for the Ministry of Sound in the UK as his “pinnacle.”
But his favourite moment as a DJ has to be playing at home in Goa, India.
The artist has a very step-by-step method when it comes to each production. He only ensures that the very best of his work goes out-
“My first challenge was hey can I write a decent piece of music? And when I thought I could do that, I went- Can I write something that’s world-class? Can I compete or be in the same realm as the Top 10 people in the planet?”
“A great DJ will play you something that you didn’t realise you wanted to hear”
That’s exactly what he tries to channel through his work- no matter where you choose to hear him.
However, innovative work is not always quick to be accepted, which is probably why his latest record Jaipur was rejected quite a few times when they first approached record labels! The song was written two years ago with co-artist Chitralekha Sen.
“I got rejected by everybody, and then I was going to bin the record…[but] I have some very good people in my life who just went ‘look you’re nuts, you need to put this out’”
And so he sent it out again until it reached (and got signed by!) The Future Sound of Egypt- a dance music royalty. Today, Jaipur- a progressive record with Indian vocals is among the Top 10 on Beatport’s Progressive House Charts.

Aneesh’s future plans involve a strong focus on mental health and of course, more music!
To help drive the conversation around men’s mental health, Aneesh has a campaign coming out in the next few months.
“There’s not much of a narrative, especially amongst men. For us, we don’t get to talk about it… and I don’t think we help ourselves, at all…just trying to break the stigma to be honest.”
He also has a brand new record coming out, which has been written along with Manasi Scott, so stay tuned for another groovy tune, and in the meantime, catch him at all the fabulous ragers at Caesars Palace, Dubai!
