A Debate Is Raging Online In Dubai As The Ethiopian Prime Minister Won The Nobel Peace Prize
BREAKING: Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, for his contribution in ending his country’s two-decade border conflict with Eritrea.
The standoff between Eritrea and Ethiopia had claimed the lives of more than 80,000 civilians which was formally put to an end in 2018 thanks to PM Abiy Ahmed’s continuous efforts.
Ethiopia’s beloved PM that sealed the peace treaty with Eritrea also worked day and night to bring about pro-democratic reforms to the country as well as increased the occupancy of females in politics, as now 50% of the cabinet are women.
PM Abiy Ahmed’s efforts resulted in securing peace between the two countries in the horn of Africa
The Prime Minister also worked towards ending media censorship within the country
