Some Schools Will Close Two Hours Early Today For The UAE Asia Cup Match And KHDA Has Clarified It’s Not All Schools
It was announced by the Ministry of Education that schools would close two hours early today, to enable students to watch the UAE-Qatar match of the Asia Cup.
The match will see the winner sent to the AFC Asia Cup final against Japan, and is VERY exciting (it’s on today at 6pm).
But the KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority) has clarified that it’s not in fact, all schools closing – just the UAE public schools.
People were confused
This was a decision taken by the UAE Ministry of Education concerning public schools. It does not apply to private schools in Dubai.

The team confirmed the match is at 6pm so everyone has time to get home to watch it
No, schools are not closing early. Those who would like to do so can get in touch with their KHDA contact to let them know beforehand.
