Team Angel Wolf formed by members of the Watson family has been making rounds in Dubai. The team has been raising awareness of people (especially children) with disabilities and how they could be included in fitness activities.
Dad Nick Watson, mom Delphine, Rio and sister Tia forms the Dubai-based group, that started out of the family’s hope: to spread awareness on childhood illnesses and promote healthy living. Nick and Delphine’s son Rio was diagnosed with Q44 Deletion De Novo, which means that he has troubles with walking and speaks through sign language.
However, despite this he still joins his dad along many active events in the city, inspiring the people that see them. The team has been joining marathons, duathlons and triathlons runs, swims and cycles every weekend for the last few months, and people are taking notice.
Now they even have Dubai Sports World, and Omnicom Media Group partnered up for an inspiring event set to take place next week in the city! This campaign is an inspiring initiative that could indeed help keep families and the community healthy and active.
The campaign strongly advocates the inclusion of children with disabilities in sports, as well as uplifting the community to lead a healthier lifestyle. Dubai Sports World has provided two custom-made running chairs for other kids with disabilities, which will be taken on its first ride around a 500m track along with two children from the community, for a total of 7km each.
People are even encouraged to help push the chairs if they want to be part of it.
Team Angel Wolf has stated their excitement for this campaign and is grateful for the first two seats that will help launch the programme. The team’s goal is to have ten chairs by the end of the year.
Date: Monday 7th August
Time: arrive at 6.45am for a 7am run start

“Since its inception, Dubai Sports World has been committed to helping families stay healthy and active, especially during the warm summer months. We are delighted to collaborate with Team Angel Wolf to launch an activity that promotes inclusion and integration of children with disabilities in the community and enables them to enjoy an exciting racing activity alongside family and friends.”
