Driving is a skill and it takes a lot of practice to perfect. Accidents happen and that’s okay but what’s not okay is when drivers perform dangerous acts on purpose. Dubai has 0 tolerance for reckless driving as it not only endangers the driver but can put others at risk as well.

A driver was apprehended for tailgating and dangerously overtaking another vehicle on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road

The driver was fined AED50,000, received 23 black points and his car was impounded

The Dubai Police said the reckless driver purposely hit the brakes, potentially putting himself and others at risk. Traffic patrols carefully monitored and recorded the reckless driver’s actions, and chose the opportune moment to safely bring him to a stop.

Due to the driver’s aggressive behaviour on the road, the repercussion was also harsh, leading to the implementation of Decree No. 30 of 2023 concerning traffic violations and the impoundment of vehicles.
