Chefs Have Shared The Weirdest Stuff People Have Ordered From Them And Some Are Outrageous

Avatar

Everyone occasionally alters an order at a restaurant, sauce on the side, no mushrooms or things well cooked.

But there’s a line, right?

Some chefs of the Middle East have shared the weirdest order-requests, ahead of the Hotel Show 2017, they’ve received while working in the region, and some of them are rather strange.

1. Tomato soup, hold the tomato

Ummm.. what?

2. Steak tartare… well-done

Who’s gonna tell this guy…?

3. Chicken breast, medium rare

The chef said:  “One day, at our café restaurant, a table of guests were requesting chicken breasts to be cooked medium-rare. Of course the waiter was the first to explain that as per food safety regulations we were unable to deliver their expectations, but at the end I had to interrupt personally and explain that chicken will only be served well-done.”

4. Dover with extra chocolate sauce

One special order for a chef was requested Dover sole fish, grilled with sauerkraut and chocolate sauce… what even is that?

5. Pedigree wagyu steak

Only in Dubai would a diner request this one. The rather expensive Wagyu steak was requested to be cooked up for a pet dog.

The diner asked for a bottle of premium water and a litre of full-fat farmers’ milk – for the dog’s bath!

6. Omelette-tofu ‘lookalike’

Some happy diner kindly requested a chef create a ‘no-egg omelette’ using tofu to do an ‘omelette lookalike’.

7. Flame grilled whiskers

The chef said one diner had very specific premium food requests for her kitty.

The chef said: “A guest asked for chicken cubes to be grilled on the fire for her cat. She was insistent that I knew that her cat didn’t like garlic and the chicken had to be nice and brown.”
