Anyone Caught Insulting Others Will Face Heavy Fines And A 6-Month Lock-Up Period
This is a PSA to all that there will be a 6-month lock-up period & heavy penalties charged on anyone caught insulting others.
As according to the Public Prosecution, article 374 of the Federal Penal Code states a person will be subject to a lock-up period of six whole months or a fine of AED5,000 for insulting someone.
It was further clarified that the punishment will apply in cases where insults have been sent or said via telephone or in face to face situations with the presence of others as witnesses.
The Federal Public Prosecution has also released a video to raise awareness of related laws in order to reduce violations resulting from ignorance of laws
