The UAE Embassy In Bangkok Issued An Advisory Following The Siam Paragon Mall Shooting

In the wake of the tragic shooting incident at Siam Paragon Mall in Bangkok, the UAE Embassy in Bangkok has issued an advisory to ensure the safety of its citizens present in the vicinity.

The embassy has taken swift action to reassure its citizens and provide guidance during this unsettling time. It emphasizes the importance of following safety guidelines set forth by Thai authorities. Additionally, the embassy has urged its citizens to utilize the emergency hotline at 0097180024 for immediate assistance. Furthermore, it encourages citizens to register for the Tawajodi service.

The incident, which occurred at the upscale shopping mall, resulted in 2 deaths and left 5 individuals injured

The perpetrator responsible for the shooting is a 14-year-old student who attended a prestigious school located in the Bang Rak district of Bangkok. Currently, the suspect is in custody, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation.

The shooting transpired at approximately 4:20pm local time, as detailed by Police Lt. General Samran Nualma, assistant commissioner-general of the Royal Thai Police, during a press conference. The suspect, who reportedly struggled with mental health issues, was apprehended less than an hour after the shooting began. Following interrogation by police, he was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

Among the victims, one is a Chinese citizen, and the other is of Myanmar nationality, as confirmed by Thai Police General Torsak Sukvimol

Furthermore, 3 Thai citizens, 1 Chinese national, and 1 Laos national sustained injuries during the incident, as reported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Kanchana Patarachoke.
